Jones Center at Ichauway
Ichauway, Inc.
A center for conservation, the Jones Center at Ichauway, a 29,000-acre property located in southwestern Georgia is funded and supported by the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation. Woodruff recognized the unique natural characteristics of the land that maintains one of the most extensive tracts of longleaf pine and wiregrass in the United States.
Committed to conserving this land, the Jones Center manages this natural preserve and utilizes it to improve the lives of those within the community. Core staff members focus on environmental research, forest and wildlife management and direct outreach programs through their campus. Collins Cooper Carusi is honored to design the housing and dining facilities for these Jones Center’s scientists and their students. Guided by the Jones Center’s principles of conservation, long leaf pine will be harvested from the property, milled on site for use, and will be used as interior wall cladding and decorative detailing for the facility. This plus many other details will continue to honor the land on which these buildings sit.
