Little Ocmulgee State Park

Little Ocmulgee State Park & Lodge holds a rich history, initially constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. Its sprawling grounds encompass a 60-room lodge, an 18-hole golf course, cabins, and a picturesque 256-acre lake.
In 2021, Collins Cooper Carusi was entrusted with the development of 10 new cabins for the property. Recognizing the need for significant upgrades to the original cabins, it was decided that replacing them entirely would offer superior accommodations, meet modern technological standards, and enhance the overall experience and visual appeal.
The new cabins embody a “transitional” style of architecture with exposed wood rafters, stone and timber columns and beams with a color palette that is distinctively modern.
Thoughtful design features, such as large overhangs, provide shelter from the summer sun, while expansive windows offer panoramic views of the lake. This emphasis on natural light not only enhances the connection to the surrounding landscape but reduces the reliance on artificial lighting, fostering a sustainable design approach.
