The Northwest Library at Scotts Crossing

Fulton County Facilities and Transportation Services

Civic / Cultural Atlanta, GA  |  25,000 sf

The new Northwest Library at Scotts Crossing serves as a library and as a cultural hub, linking the neighborhood’s past to the transitioning needs of its current and future residents.

This community-centered library facility is a welcoming destination and acts as a catalyst for future neighborhood development. The facility has 5,700 SF of adult collection with stacks, group and individual study rooms, reading and informal lounge areas, as well as 3,800-SF zone dedicated exclusively to children, providing books, media, reading tables, informal gather spaces, technology and a tiered read-aloud storytelling area.

Noteworthy: Prior to the start of design, a series of well-attended community meetings directed the programmatic responses to specific community needs. Unique to this library is a business incubator that is fully equipped with technology, and a music studio that provides space for Atlanta’s growing music industry.
