As Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School experienced rapid enrollment growth, the need for
classroom space became a priority.
The Fred Rowan Middle School provides HIES the programmatic space it needed for its growing student population. Ascending three stories and situated near the newly renovated ball fields, outdoor playground and new athletic facility expansion. A student commons and media center provide hubs for collaboration with flexible furniture to accommodate various meetings and encounters. Low maintenance, high durability finishes line the corridors, extending the life of the design for years to come.
Noteworthy: The prominence of students’ creative energy led to the design of the school’s art lab. Situated on the top floor, this light filled artistic nerve center is wrapped in clerestory glass with large round skylights extending from the roof deck.
