The new Upper School at Mount Vernon Presbyterian School in Atlanta, Georgia has been selected for a Citation of Excellence in the Spring 2020 issue of Learning by Design magazine.
The Jury comments about this project included: “I like how the building is tucked in the sloped setting and how the learning stairs extended out along the colonnade. The consistent use of natural materials with a sophisticated finish palette makes the interior spaces warm, and conducive to learning. The design of the spaces have strong visual connection to the beautiful outside setting. This project features very sophisticated interiors that reflect the intent of the collaborative and flexible program. It’s also very nice to see a refreshing administrative space that has a great co-working feel.” By embracing the aesthetics of home, corporate office, co-working and education environments, the new Upper School eliminates single-function thinking to foster the richer kind of learning that represents an open, forward-thinking attitude.
