The Northwest Library at Scotts Crossing accomplished significant sustainability goals through the LEED certification system, achieving LEED Silver Certification through the USGBC.

The project received maximum credits for development density and community connectivity, effectively integrating itself into the community while efficiently using the existing site. The building was designed to act as a catalyst for future development throughout the surrounding community, and offers flexible spaces for various library functions as well as after-hour neighborhood meetings.

Energy savings represents 25% over baseline, and water use represents 35% savings over baseline. The project construction waste management and recycling plan resulted in diversion of 85% of the construction waste from landfills.

“This library is changing the lives of this community by supporting lifelong learning and helping to build this community through access.”
