The
vision of the project is to create an updated and
unified Theology Village in this campus precinct.
This concept relocates the entire Pitts Library
to a new facility and unifies the library with
new faculty offices, classrooms, and support spaces.
Emory
University's goal for the project is LEED Silver
certification. Sustainable projects such as Candler
School of Theology coordinate with Emory's campus-wide
strategies which include preservation of green
space and maximizing recycling opportunities.
These
actions support Emory's mandate to reduce the
University’s average campus energy use
by 25 percent per square foot by 2015, and reducing
the University’s greenhouse gas emissions.
